What We Do

Budget Administration and Operations is SF State's financial planning and analysis office.

BAO reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for the processes, policies and issues related to the University's Consolidated Budget. These responsibilities include planning, development, implementation, management, monitoring and reporting. In addition, the office provides budget information, guidance and assistance to the campus community while seeking an efficient use of all funds.

In support of SF State's mission, Budget Administration and Operations:

  • Provides professional expertise, guidance and support in developing and administering the University’s operating budget and capital budget
  • Reports the University’s annual budget plan
  • Monitors, analyzes and reports on the University’s financial performance
  • Works collaboratively with the campus community to promote the University’s financial strength and integrity
